After a successful and fulfilling 20 years working in the Vancouver newspaper business as a marketer, design and real estate writer and editor, I have shifted my energy and focus to a full-time career in the real estate business as a licensed realtor.
I am a local, a British Columbian, born and raised in New Westminster, and have long held a passion for all things house and home-related, from gardening and decorating to renovating and landscaping to staging and design.
For me, real estate in all its forms has always been a hands-on pursuit, whether it has been learning about the market or working personally on the renovation of several homes. My husband Ryan and I have renovated, from the studs out, a 1940s Sapperton bungalow, a 1960s Point Roberts cottage and a 1910 Queens Park heritage home in New Westminster, where we now live with our son Jack and English lab, Olive.
I also work alongside my brother as a designer and project manager for his company, Circa Restorations Inc. There isn’t much I don’t do when it comes to houses, I scrape and paint, lay tile and wood, hammer nails, schlep sod, do demolition and design everything from kitchens to landscapes, and now I am thrilled to be applying all that experience — both professional and hands-on — to the real estate business as a licensed realtor with Keller Williams Realty VanCentral.
I have followed the Metro Vancouver housing market for decades, participated in numerous real estate and housing forums and home tours from Vancouver and New Westminster to Palm Springs, Santa Fe and New Orleans. And, yes, I have subscriptions to more house and design magazines than any one person should, given my penchant for everything from antiques and midcentury to modern and traditional design.
Simply put, I love real estate.
What I bring to the table as a realtor is not just that enthusiasm and interest, but also years of invaluable knowledge and networking contacts gained in my role in marketing and promoting two of the country’s largest daily newspapers, The Vancouver Sun and The Province. In my years with Pacific Press and Postmedia, I gained invaluable knowledge and networking contacts in my role in marketing and promoting two of the country’s largest daily newspapers, including my role as an editor/writer/designer on our various editorial and special advertising real estate publications, from the At Home section to WestCoast Homes + Design magazine, working with realtors, developers, clients, designers, landscapers, architects and industry professionals throughout the region.
Let me say it again. I love real estate. I love working with people. I love the business of promoting and marketing and buying and selling and renovating and styling homes, from For Sale to Sold.
